JdF Preparations

• Many decisions made on logistics of JdF cruise:
  • Shipping van will be kept at 15C for both shipping up there and returning.
  • Wireless network will already be set-up before shipping, so Chris P. can run the dock test whenever convenient before the 11th.
  • Chris P. to be in Newport on July 8 when Van arrives.  Engineers will arrive on 9th or 10th.  Load ship on 11th.  Shove off July 12.
  • On return, planning for ship unload on July 23.  Engineers can leave July 24.  Bill to see to van loading and see it off on July 25.
•  IEP pump needs calibrating after new pulse dampeners installed.  Brent and Doug looking into that.
• Gordon does not need to be in ball before May 27, as originally planned.

Hawaii Drifter preparations

•  We recalculated numbers for the power budget, which showed how difficult the mission planning will be for the drifter cruise.  Chris S. will talk to Zehr/DeLong about their needs and how many samples/ how much water they will want to collect.
• Chris would like to be able to 'check-in' to the Drifter from MBARI.  Brent says that is very likely; will work on when he returns from Europe.
